Andy Wallace Memorial Day organised by Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group raises 1500 for Bolton Hospice

The Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group organised a special event at the end of June at Atherton Colliers FC’s Skuna Stadium, in memory of local man Andy Wallace who tragically died whilst on holiday in Spain with friends in 2019.

The family event that was attended by more than 400 people included a football match, face painting, animal encounters, photo opportunities with ex-Bolton Wanderers players, and much more.

Kelby Makin of the group, said: “Final total raised is a staggering £3150. Absolutely outstanding from every person involved. This is exactly what this group is about. Bringing families, friends and unknowns together to support our cause. Thank you to each and every one of you.”

Kathryn Sheldon, fundraising manager at Bolton Hospice, said: “We are delighted to receive this fantastic donation of £1500 from the Andy Wallace Memorial Day to help Bolton Hospice continue to be there for our community when they need us the most. A huge thank you to the Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group, all the players, and everyone who came and supported the day.’
