Its time to go fishing Tiger for life Houli to retire
Triple-premiership Tiger Bachar Houli has announced his retirement.
A former Bomber who came to Richmond via the pre-season draft, Houli played more than 230 games for the Punt Road club. The 33-year-old was runner-up for the Norm Smith in 2017 and 2019 and was named All-Australian in 2019.

âI have been fortunate enough to play at two great clubs, and to be a part of the history of this game,â he added.
âNot only did I want to play as many games as possible, but I wanted to educate Australia, about my faith [and] about the religion of Islam, the religion of peace. I hope I have left a sense of peace in everyoneâs heart.
âI sincerely thank the club and the AFL for allowing me to be me.
âThank you to the [entire] Richmond Football Club, from Peggy, to the chief [Brendon Gale], to the amazing Tiger Army ... for allowing me to be a part of this amazing organisation.
âItâs time to go fishing, Tiger for life.â
Houli leaves a strong off-field legacy at Richmond, with the Bachar Houli Foundation, which he founded, building young leaders within the Muslim community.
